The Cook Islands is the name of the first European to land there in the 18th century, Captain Cook. They are now an independent state with a small population and are fiercely protective of its rich cultural heritage. So far, Diving Cook Islands is ideal for beginners and although it is very difficult for experienced divers, yet offers beautiful marine life, the warm waters all year round and lush forests and streams of the island over the adventures at sea.

Rarotonga is the largest Cook Islands and the right name means "south." Despite being the largest island, is still small and can complete the circuit of the island by car in less than an hour. Rarotonga offers the best of both worlds, as it is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and coral reefs, misty interiors are enigmatic and lush mountains. If the "tropical paradise" comes to mind is not far, as it is situated right on the Tropic of Capricorn and the water temperature ranges from a temperate 23 degrees Celsius and a warm 30 degrees in summer, which provides the perfect climate for your diving adventure of the Cook Islands.

Cook Island Dive Scuba Dive on the reef yet easy and relaxed, although there are some potential diving accident. Rarotonga is surrounded by a lagoon that offers an ideal setting for diving. If you venture beyond the lagoon, you will find more exciting diving as the Cook Islands are home to many underwater caves, canyons and tunnels. The island is best avoided from November to March during cyclone season, but July to October are the best months to visit because it is whale season humpback. While diving in the Cook Islands, you're bound to find a great variety of marine life, including great mantra rays, barracuda and marlin, as well as Spanish dancers, sailfish and sea turtles. The many coral species are unfortunately under the invasion of the crown of thorns starfish destructive but recent slaughter has proved a success.

Diving Cook island has much to offer and is perfect for those on their first dive vacation, PADI courses are also available on the island. You can fly to Rarotonga airport and from there explore the smaller islands cruises or charter.
