Can you scuba dive if I have hearing problems?

I am thinking of learning to dive, but I read the medical statement and he replied that yes to some of them. I am going to my doctor to see if you can dive but I was wondering if anyone else has these problems and if you can dive or whether it is safe to do so? I had surgery to enlarge ear to ear canals, as they are very close, because as a child who had glue ear. It constantly have ear problems by the fact that they feel blocked because the air pressure in my ears. I also painful ears when I swim underwater in a pool, but do not know if is different from diving, because it would not be holding my breath. They also suffer from ME and, although I am improving but still can not do any strenuous exercise and do not know how diving is difficult. Serious answers please thanks for any help! I talked to the woman who organizes dive but she really did not know and told me to talk to a doctor.
