Cape Diving

There is a place of serenity and peace that can travel undisturbed, far from Miami and other major centers in Florida. Cape San Blas is a destination that those seeking pure should be addressed relaxation.
Located in the horseshoe-shaped spit of land in the Gulf of Mexico known as the Bay of San Jose, this is what is known as Forgotten Coast, Florida. No tall buildings, or from wall to wall people – or buildings for that matter, no noise, no pollution. Pristina is the word that work on any day at Cape San Blas.
The cape was historically used by the Confederation to collect salt from sea water until 1862 when it was destroyed by the Union. The first lighthouse was built in the Cape in 1847 and was destroyed in August 1851 by the strong winds. There was little new construction in the middle of the original lighthouse standing today. The current lighthouse is based on thousands of visitors each year. The ninety-six foot building houses two guards high for using walkie-talkies, a manager who attends the gift shop you can talk to the other that the eyes of the tower and watches the storms. You have the opportunity to climb the tower, unless a storm electricity, where you can see from sea to sea … or at least the area of the Cape.
If the headlights of climbing for a great view is not your thing, then why not pop More St. Joseph Peninsula State Park? One of the highest-rated beaches in the United States is within the park. During this trip, you can try your hand at kayaking, bird watching and dolphin. The park is located at more than 2,500 acres on the far right of the Cape. Camping, hiking and scuba diving are other activities you can participate.
Most of the area around Cape San Blas is privately owned beach houses and undeveloped beaches and dunes. You have the unique opportunity to enjoy the lives of both side of the bay and the beach while surfing through the stumphole, as Florida they call it, which is the narrowest point, only a few hundred meters wide. Pets are welcome at every beach, so bring along too!
Port Saint Joe is the local town at the Cape. It is very relaxed, with a few stores here and there for your pleasure. For more shopping needs, you may go thirty minutes the Apalachicola. Mexico Beach has several restaurants and shops to choose from from as well. Port Saint Joe has an annual Youth Fishing Tournament May.
What else to do while away from the hustle and bustle? You can go crabbing and your own dinner or maybe go swimming with your dog. Do you like horses? You can go riding on the beach too. Too exhausting say? Good, bonfires and maybe an afternoon watching the glow of the stars is more your style.
If peevish mood for the holidays far from ports such as Miami, then Cape San Blas is the place to be. Some of the friendliest people you want to meet live here and are willing to show her around. Sleep, daydreaming, and repeat.
