You are in a diving competition on the 3 meter spring board. you hit the water ( 3 meters below the board) 1.6 seconds after u leave the board.
formula is d=rt-5rt^2
A) wat was ur initial upward velocity.
b) wen did you pass the board on the way down?
c)how high above the board did u go
to find r:
-3 = 1.6r – 12.8r
-3 = -11.2r
r = 3.733333
a) differentiate the equation to find the velocity formula:
v = r – 10rt
t = 0
initial velocity = r
b) 0 = rt – 5rt^2
t = 0 —— which is the starting point
t = 1/5
c) when i am in the max height v = 0
0 = r – 10rt
t = 1/10 ——– when I’m in the max height
d = ( 1/10 )r – 5r( 1/10 )^2
