Diving Associations

Within a decade, technical diving has moved from being the preserve of extremists to become mainstream, but specialized in the field. The reason technical diving has been reached only after passing a series of challenges and control in the past. In late 1980 the International Association of Nitrox Divers Technical became the first specialized technical training center, marking a revolution in diving.
, For recreational diving, the limit of 40 m diving depth and the diver must surface directly into a course without restrictions. However, technical diving depth, divers enjoy unlimited the diver may need to re-emerge along a narrower path, as in the technical cave diving.
Wrecks also challenges the diver ability to cope with unstable conditions and the maze-like corridors in an accident. After a deep dive, the diver's body has absorbed a large amount inert gas (mostly nitrogen). There is a life-threatening danger in the area without following a proper process of decompression during ascent.
Technical Diving is a relatively risky activity, therefore, the course follows stricter rules in admitting students. The instructor has the right to reject the no proficiency in the Cave diving courses such as technical and diving re-breather. In general, students who are learning basic diving skills must be at least two to three years of diving, perhaps even as a certified scuba diving instructors.
The main difference between technical divers and recreational divers is not your experience or value, but their mentality. Recreational divers are happy to swim over coral and fish, while technical divers are eager to test its limits. At a depth of 300 feet, the personality of the diver, a clear mind and technique are under enormous strain. Even a small mistake can lead to uncontrolled results in this environment. Therefore, psychological fitness is more important than physical fitness for a technical diver.
How should choose an agent of technical training dive? There are about five international training centers in Hong Kong, including the agent of the foundation IANTD and PADI. Several points should be considered when choosing a training center: the availability of equipment and level, the emphasis on fair procedures and proper training, the experience of Technical diving instructors, and the opinions of alumni. Although the cost could be another point to consider, the difference of the hundred or thousand dollars is negligible compared to the value of your life.
The course structure of a technical diving course is similar to a recreation that everyone starts from a basic level, even if you are a qualified instructor or experienced diver. During deep diving technique involves three different levels within the IANTD and systems PADI.
The basic course is called Advanced Nitrox Diver (IANTD) or apprentice Tech Deep Diver (PADI). It teaches students the benefits, hazards and procedures appropriate to dive to a depth of 45m high use of oxygen content for the rapid decompression. This is deeper than the limits of recreational diving. It is important time and strictly follow safety procedures for coating stops, otherwise decompression disease (curves) could result. If a diver spends 30 minutes at a depth of 45m, it takes an extra 40 minutes of decompression.
After completing the basic course, the student can pass the Technical Nitrox Diver (IANTD) or Tec-Deep Diver (PADI). In this course, students dive as deep as 55 meters, with two tanks of oxygen-rich (one is pure oxygen) for decompression. The 30 minutes of diving in 55m deep will require another 50 minutes for decompression. Apart from diving deep the student studies in depth the impact of high pressure in the diver and psychological changes and work on improving posture and technique of buoyancy control.
The final course is Trimix. The diver uses a combination of low oxygen, nitrogen and mixtures under high helium gas to dive an 80m. This gas mixture is essential to dive as deep as the normal air pressure negative sites on the body of diving to depths of over 55m. 21% in the air after 55m depth will cause the diver conrulse and even lose consciousness – this is toxcity oxygen. Improper use of trimix gases, however, also cause problems, therefore, specialized training is a necessity.
All technical diving courses include lectures, pool work and practice of deep water. The teacher to student ratio is much lower than in the recreational diving courses in which a driving instructor 3 to 4 students and the proportion is even tougher for some courses, to account for the more complicated nature of the course.
Technical Diving is still a risky activity, technology and learning experience technical diving can feed back into recreational diving to improve the security level for the whole dive industry.
