Diving Miami Beach

Does anybody knows of an inshore reef in South Florida to go snorkeling/lobstering accessible from the shore?
I live in the Orlando area and I’m a Certified Diver. Although I honestly have not gone diving in almost 2 years though, but I sure miss it. I’ve been planning a trip down to South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale/Miami/The Keys), and would love to see some beautiful marine life!
I don’t want to go diving just yet again until I get a refresher, however I do have my Snorkeling equipment and would want to make use of it. Last time I went to the Keys I went to Bahia Honda and saw some nice marine life although not a lot.
My question is, if anybody knows of a really nice “inshore” reef, accessible from the beach and yet not too deep to go snorkeling, full of marine life including corals? and also if not at the same location, a good place to go lobstering? Thank you!!
Yes there are a few spots in the area. LBTS (lauterdale by the sea) sounds like your best bet from shore. It is about 75-100 yards off the public beach. There are 3 reefs that parallel the shore. (The first is 75-100 from the shore the second about another 50-75 and the 3rd beyond that) If you are on the beach there is a pier and you swim out that direction and you will find it. (hit the local dive shop down there and they can direct you.)
I see people snorkel at various places in the keys (like pennakamp on KL) but the best stuff is a little farther off shore. (However there are plenty for boats to take you out to molasses reef etc that aren’t too expensive.)
One thought, a refresher can be done almost as you go, have you thought about picking one up in the keys? (I think they are 99 for the refresher and take less than 1/2 a day.) Because if you are all the way down there, why not see the best stuff there is to see!
