Scuba Diving off the coast of New England (MA)?
Hey everyone,
I’m getting my Scuba Cerification soon, and I live in Massachusetts, so I will be doing my open water dives and most of my diving in New England. I was just wondering what there is to see off the coast of NE, my dad said “all you’re going to see is a lobster and murky green water” but I figure I’d ask you guys, assuming someone must dive here at least sometimes.
So, are there any striking features in the water here?
Wrecks!!!!!!! Lot’s of them. Pretty well anywhere on the eastern seaboard, not just MA. Hey…if we have just a little under 6,000 of them here in the Great lakes ( just a little over half found), just think of what lies in store for you. Even better..you have WW2 wrecks. U boats were pretty active and sank a few vessels just offshore. Then there’s the commercial vessels lost each year like fishing boats as well as historical wrecks.
