In the past they were called "The Island that time forgot." However, as one of the "hot spots" in the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands are now remembered for being clean, relatively crime free, prosperous and politically stable and absolutely charming! The people of the Cayman Islands also genuinely warm and welcoming.
Located just 480 miles south of Miami, this trio island comprises Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman – each with beauty and personality. These islands are British colonies and, as such, are English speaking.
Of the three, Grand Cayman is the largest island and more populated and is the fifth largest financial center in the world. They are home to over 500 registered banks and the world's second largest home (after Bermuda) for captive insurance companies. Not surprisingly, the Cayman Islands enjoy the highest living standards in the Caribbean.

The warm waters of the Caribbean Sea cobalt are ideal for snorkeling, diving, fishing and other water sports. Although it is reasonable for not wanting to leave the warm sandy beaches, you really should explore the rich past of the Cayman Islands National Museum visiting the Cayman Islands, Fort St. James, and sights as the Cayman Turtle Farm and Hell. Or better yet, go shopping! There are great duty free prices found on objects such as jewelry, cameras and perfumes, among others.
Dining and Kitchen
With more than 150 places to eat, choice of restaurants, fast food outlets and small cafes offers visitors a selection ranging from elegant restaurants to fast food and take in the budget.
The traditional cuisine of the Cayman Islands has been animated by a strong influence of Jamaican jerk, curry and other spices interesting. We feature traditional dishes of lobster shell and other seafood, cooked in a variety of ways. Local dishes are often complemented by coconut, banana, breadfruit, yams, cassava, rice and peas and other West Indian dishes.
You'll also find plenty to recognize fast food chains like Pizza Hut, Dominos, Subway, Burger King, Wendy's and KFC.

How Married
Visitors to the Cayman Islands can get married on the day of arrival. This includes passengers arriving on cruise ships, which can be legally married during their day at the port of Grand Cayman.
A special license is granted by the Governor to non-resident couples. The application of this license may be obtained in:

The fee for this license is CI $ 150, plus a stamp duty of CI $ 10 (CI $ 160 or U.S. $ 200 in total). It is possible obtain special leave on the day of the wedding, however, visitors are advised to take steps in advance to expedite the paperwork and all the required details.
Couples should have the official marriage Cayman Islands before applying for the license. A list of officials is available from the office of the Secretary and may be sent prior to arrival.
Other requirements include proper documentation to prove:
i) citizenship and age (passport or birth certificate)
ii) marital status (proof of legal divorce or death certificate if the deceased spouse, if applicable)
iii) the immigration card that shows legal entry into the Cayman Islands (get this card as the immigration clear at the airport), or
iv) Proof of visitors is a passenger on a cruise. The minimum legal age for marriage without parental consent is 18.
