Requirements for a career in diving.?

An instructor or guide. Can anyone give me a rough idea on the cost / time / number of dives / Age / education requirements that I know little of what the job actually involves. I am 17 and have done 41 dives in total, and I'm thinking of becoming an instructor, but the cost seems a bit afraid because, for the moment, the pockets are pretty empty.
