Diving Season Maldives

Planning a holiday in October to Maldives.?
If anyone has visited Maldives for a holiday, please guide me with some good resorts especially water villas(personel experiences please). What are the rates in off season – October? How is the service? Whether we get good food for vegetarians? Will October rains spoil my holiday in anyways?
What are the tourist attractions? Water sports are possible in this (October) season? Would like to know if I need to take along any diving gears or shoes? Can I get the equipments on rent?
Thank you for your quick response, but I have already explored all these sites and they confuse you more as they all have beautiful pictures, and looks can be decieving. I want personal experiences and reviews. I am basically looking for relaxation at a beach.
The Maldives is great for a water sports vacation. I would bring your own booties for the coral and your own mask and snorkel. Other larger items can be rented at the resorts.

Here is a list of agents and for resort feedback there are extensive comments at TripAdvisor …
UPDATE: I like the Taj, Four Seasons, and Banyantree … Here are the links to those resorts, you can sometimes get better prices for the booking agents than the actual resorts.
All three have great house reefs. The Four Seasons has nearby islands and additional dive spots available.
I have never been disappointed with the weather — unless you want to pick better surf times of the year — otherwise, October will be fine.
Once you narrow it down, do verify with TripAdvisor — they have many many reviewers which is more balanced than just my point of view. My trips are full time water sports, without much time for the pool or bar — but, everyone is different. A T-shirt and a snorkel can keep me in the water for hours.
