Prostitution/drugs/good times in Vancouver?

If one was looking to spend a night with a hooker, perhaps do some convienent drugs, what would one expect to encounter in Vancouver? Is it legal there, is there a high tolerance for such things? Best venues for rock shows, jazz, dives? And what is the most easily accessible camping spot not too far away?

Umm. No. Drugs and Prostitution are not legal anywhere in Canada. Marijuana is “tolerated” in some parts of Canada, but it is still considered illegal and the cops will confiscate it and probably fine or arrest you.

In BC at the moment, there has been an outbreak of bed bugs that was directly attributed to the red light district of Vancouver by the BC Ministry of Health. That has also led to a few women filing for divorce as they found out by the bed bugs that their husbands had been frequenting hookers because of these bedbugs.

You are likely to encounter diseases and some police sting operations at this time. If you are willing to do the time (or suffer the slime), then do the crime.
