Located at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh is a popular destination for divers. The warm clear waters make it relatively for diving and easy compared to some places in the world, prices are reasonable.
Diving around Sharm el Sheikh is ideal for all levels of divers of learning to dive to experienced divers. To the north of Sharm el Sheikh Tiran are the lines with its wonderful coral gardens and in certain months, is may go for hammerhead sharks.
To the south of Sharm el-Sheikh is the Ras Mohammed National Park are the areas where the dive site more popular, Shark and Yolanda. Since this dive site is located on the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula, currents and visibility can vary, but it is definitely one of the best dive sites in Egypt.
However, closer to Sharm el Sheikh are a number of local dive sites to the north and south of the resort. Just north of Naama Bay are the gardens, near the garden, Middle Garden, Garden and Far Garden violin. These dive sites are located on or very close to some of 5 * hotels in Sharm and every day, ships of different dive centers in Sharm moor here and his divers entering the water here.
South Naama Bay most dive sites along the coast of Sinai, including Ras Katy, Temple, Ras Umm Sid, Paradise, Turtle Bay, amphorae, Pinky Wall, Torre and Sodfa.
Despite not having the prestige of the dive sites of Ras Mohammed and Tiran, my own dive log shows that there is no shortage of fantastic marine life is on local dive sites, including the Napoleon fish, Torpedo Rays, Octopus, Devil Rays and an abundance of smaller marine life.
It was at East Garden on 30 July 2008, which was discovered one of the most amazing sites in Sharm in recent memory. About 300 meters off the coast at the Hyatt Regency massive fish baitball one that stretches from 5m to 22m deep was discovered. It was being attacked by 4 whale sharks. Small fish like sardines form balls bait when threatened and is most commonly associated with "Sardine Run", which occurs every year off the coast of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.
Whale sharks were first spotted at about 8:30 and it was not long before the dive boats everywhere are heading to the area to see this show of nature. Many experienced dive instructors, do not remember seeing anything like this in the area and those who were lucky enough to see him, I'll never forget.
Tiran and Ras Mohammed are still the focal points of Sharm Sheikh diving, but local sites can not be ignored, since they are more likely to have an unforgettable dive there too.
