Ear cleaning solution from: Methylated spirits, vinegar and water…What percentages of each should be used?

Hi all,

I want to make a big brew of ear cleaning fluid for after scuba diving in dirty water…

I remember one of the guys I worked with suggested: Methylated spirits (Methanol), white vinegar and water…. But I forgot the percentages!!! LOL

I remember vaguely something like: 50% methylated spirits, 20% vinegar, 30% water…

Now before I burn my ear canal, what percentage would you recommend from these 3 items?

(It has to be effective aswell)

Thanks!!

The main concern I would have is getting swimmers ear as it very painful and I have always used 1/2 isopropyl alcohol and 1/2 water. Or you can buy it pre-made at the drug store. The idea is that the alcohol evaporates rapidly and will dry the ear so it does not get “mildewed”.
