Diving Weight Belt
Weight of Scuba gear?
My dad and i are in an open water diving course. We’ve had two weekends of pool dives and are going on our lake dives this weekend. I’ve always wondered but never asked – how much does all of that equipment weigh?!?
Not counting the weight belt or extra weights of course – just the tank and BCD. I use a regular sized tank (not small) and it feels so heavy. Just wondering actual weight….
Guessing, but very close:
Tank – 80 cubic foot aluminum, 45 lbs filled.
Regulator – 2 lbs
BC – 5 lbs
Wetsuit – 4 lbs (I dive a 7mm 1 piece)
So, 56ish pounds. I’m at work, all my gear is at home, or I’d weigh it all.
