Diving World Records

help me remember the title of a movie I saw about 10 years ago?
It was a free diver who was trying to set a new record world of something, at first his father died when diving and that is from Greece. Thats all i know, not a documentary but a reliable feature
I did a search quickie and found The Deep Breath (2005) http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0477611/ and Le grand bleu (1988) aka The Big Blue. The latter can be the one you're thinking: Enzo and Jacques have known for a long time. Their friendship started in their childhood days in the Mediterranean. They were not real friends these days, but there was something he loved and used to do all day long: diving. One day the father of Jacques, who was a diver, died in the Mediterranean Sea. After that incident Enzo and Jacques lost touch. After several years, Enzo and Jacques had grown up, Johanna, a young clerk in a security office, has to go Peru. It meets Jacques who works for a group of scientists. He dives for some minutes in ice water and scientific monitoring of their physical condition is more like a dolphin than a human. Johanna can not believe what she sees and gets very interested in Jacques but she's unable to get acquainted with him. Some weeks later, back in his office, he realizes a championship for divers that are supposed to be held in Taormina, Italy. In order to see Jacques again invents a story that the company sends him to Italy for business purposes. Taormina is also Enzo, the reigning diving world. He knows that only Jacques can challenge and probably beat him. This time Johanna and Jacques closer, but Jacques, being more a dolphin than a man really can not commit and his rivalry with Enzo pushes men into dangerous territory … http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095250/ Note: Greece / Greek Orthodox are among the key words for this film.
