Buying car in West Virginia on Ebay?

Thank you all for your answers to my question, especially ‘Dove’, who offered to go look. Sorry that I didn’t see your response until this morning, or I would have called.
Just in case you’re still able to, the item # is 130118131187 in Ebay Motors. Its a green Jeep Cherokee. You can email the seller and ask directions to go look at it. If you do, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Nothing wrong with buying a vehicle from ebay.

However, if buying from ebay, make sure you personally look at the vehicle before bidding on it, or that it’s close enough to pick up in person, and they’ll give any deposits back if it isn’t as described when you do pick it up in person.

You run the same risk buying it off of ebay as you do buying a vehicle from anyone else, out of classifieds, off the local corner, or even from a dealer. On a vehicle that old, a dealer will not put a warranty on it, unless required by state law, then it will be the absolute minimum, and as good as no warranty at all. There’s no guarantee that it will not break down as soon as you drive it off from wherever you buy it.

It looks like it’s in good shape from the pictures, but pictures can hide a lot and don’t show how well it starts, runs and drives, and also doesn’t show the undercarriage if it’s rusty or not.

With that said, do you really think an older couple owns this JEEP? I seriously doubt that a couple in their 80′s would have had any of the following installed: Pioneer stereo complete with a homemade subwoofer box, clear Euro style taillights and front turn signal lights, custom off-road tires and aluminum wheels. If it is owned by an older couple, then it’s their grandchilds vehicle who they let drive and kept it in their name.
