Man Hits Head Diving

Why am I acting out my dreams?

I have talked in my sleep for as long as I can remember. About four years ago, I started acting out my dreams, for example, if I was fighting someone in a dream, I would actually throw punches in my sleep and pull my boyfriends hair or pinch him. This would only happen once in a while though. Now recently, I have gotten married, to a different guy, and he tells me that I talk almost everynight in my sleep. I have abused him in my sleep many times. I almost attacked my eight year old daughter in my sleep while dreaming that I was fighting and my husband woke me up. The other night, I was dreaming that I was playing woman’s football and I caught the football and dove into the end zone, well I actually dove off the bed and hit my head so hard on the floor. Sounds funny but man did it hurt. My doctor said that it could be stress. What else could it be.

When you dream, your body is supposed to release a hormone that paralyzes your muscles so you don’t move around. When something goes wrong, you can either wake up and be paralyzed or dream and move around. This isn’t unnatural it might be a sleep disorder.
