What can I do to work towards a instrustor scuba diving?

I'm thirteen now, and I want to be a marine biologist and teach diving in my free time. I am now certified NAUI diving. What can I do to work towards being a diving instructor?

As you know for be a NAUI instructor have to be a little older. It's great that you want to go this direction. The best thing to do is get on good terms with local instructors. And Dive Dive Dive. The experience will be your best bet. As it ages take classes as you can. Get your AOW and then rescue. Get your Master, and then when you can go professional level. Working with some instructors will help too. As you dive more and get to know more, offer to help out both in the store and classes. Offer to be a gopher or carry things, if a change can be seen classes. See if it will be left in the sessions in the pool (not so much to do anything, but just to see) You will see how teachers teach and how to deal with students who are having a little problem. Work with / watch different instructors this way you can see the different ways in which they teach. You'll see how some groups keep together, so they are better at skills demos, some of academic teaching so it is easier to understand, and some are better at calming down nervous student. See what works and what does not work so well, and then when you can become an instructor and you have a library so that knowledge can be a very good! Good luck!
