Lost PADI card for 28 years, how can I replace it?

Padi courxe Tome 28 years ago. Just launched a couple times. Now I want to return to diving. Dive shop is gone, and I remember instructors name. Is it possible to replace the card? Without taking the course again? How I do::?

Susan, I was in the same situation 10 years ago. I had gotten my C-card in 1975 and jumped a little. And lost. You can contact PADI (Pay all the money immediately), but realistically, you should take the Open Water class again. I did and I was surprised how much I had forgotten and how the team had changed. So I suggest recertification. Without your old card, you can not just take a refresher course – you'll probably want whole ball of wax. And there is the security issue …
