How deep is the Devil’s Water Hole in Inks Lake, outside of Austin, Texas? Has anyone been hurt diving there?

It’s a famous swimming hole in the town of Burnett, in Inks Lake State Park, at the Colorado River. Great place by the way, but it is DEEP there. I swam down at least 40 feet trying to touch the bottom.

How do you know swimming down through the water that you went down 40 feet? that’s quite a feat to go that far down and back up (80feet total) without scuba gear.
